Here's an epic picture of me climbing into one of the sabers at Victory Arch
I got out of the military in 2005, raced for Team Texas a bit then toured the United States by motorcycle. I would spend my days on the bike and my nights in my 8x5 cargo trailer. When I was ready to see some new terrain I would haul the entire operation down the road to the next town.
I started building custom FPV airplanes in 2010. I would wear specialized antennas (normally on my head so I could aim them at the airplane) and the airplane would have a camera in it and I would fly the airplane remotely seeing through the camera as if I was in the cockpit. Here's my latest contraption, dual pagoda array on DJI goggles HD video, 8 mile range @ 5.8ghz.

and while I built a fair few FPV airplanes the My Twin Dream was one of my favorites.

Although the Jaredopian Air Force bore many resemblances to another more popular air force, Jaredopians always considered their air force the *superior* one.

The Jaredopian flag makes it's return (now with lore). The red color of the flag represents the blood of those who have fought for the nation’s freedom, bones a representation of those who have opposed the mighty nation, and blue representing the rush of euphoria Jaredopian citizens feel when they hear the ker-CAAAAW! of their beloved national bird… (albeit not nearly the same notable enthusiasm for braaWK, bruk-swaaawk or skwack, bruck buk buk)

An artist was commissioned to paint the ship’s militaristic victories along the fuse, however due to a flagrant misunderstanding of the governmental verbiage, aircraft previously crashed by the pilot were represented across the ship’s hull instead.

Airmen subjected to kitchen duty: Top brass was livid when their prized flagship returned from mission emblazoned with a pin-up model abroad the portside stern.

Despite the Jaredopian Air Force Base being outfitted with the absolute top-of-the-line laser security grid, tier-7 multi-layer containment fences, and leading edge detection systems, repeat offender and notorious rascal, Mittens the cat had managed to find his way back into the cargo hold yet again.

the "propan 2" for full 360 degree look direction

I skinned the belly of the airplane with kevlar

the antenna that ultimately got the airplane 27 miles from base station was a Dragonlink dipole 1.3ghz paired to 1.3ghz yagi

here's a video of a good flight I had with an airplane called the "Mini Talon"
I built a really cool FPV rock crawler truck.

But the most unique and most successful FPV airplanes I built were sailplanes. Of all the drone pilots out there I felt I was one of the few hobbiests in the world actively doing FPV soaring.
I started building custom electric bikes in 2012
Here's the first bike I built but it was only capable of 800 watts
I went a little nuts with my next build at 1.5 kilowatt output
Then there was the "Black Bullet" tadpole trike. 3000 watt surge current with 1800 watt continuous. Built partially with mig welded bedframe
I took this monster to the "Skull Valley Challenge" race and won first place
I then started to take the Black Bullet on multi-day distance tours. I first used parks, restaurants or wherever I could find electricity, but later moved to solar.
Ultimately this led me to get into bikepacking, backpacking, hiking and exploration
